The state carrier Air India has decided to name its new fleet of Boeing 777 after the names of the states. The officials disclosed that the first Boeing that it will acquire in May would be named as ‘State of Andhra Pradesh’.
It has been the practice of Air India to name its fleet with historical figures, mountain ranges and rivers. From now on, the aircraft would be named after the states in India. As Andhra Pradesh comes first
In the alphabetical order, the first aircraft will be named after it. The name will appear in bold letters on the aircraft. The airline also plans to screen information about tourism and other aspects about that particular state on the flight.
