 Simran , one time glamour queen and heart throb of Tamil cinema, after marriage and motherhood was desperately trying to make a comeback into the industry. When no offers came her way in Tamil and Telugu the smart actress has turned towards Malayalam, where there is a dearth of heroines. After all she started her career with a Malayalam film Indraprastham opposite superstar Mammootty! And now she returns with Vinu Anand's Heart Beats a medical campus thriller set in Kochi. Indrajit , plays her hero along with four other guys- Mani Kuttan, Govindan Kutty, Arun , and Anoop Chandran. Simran plays a mystery woman, who gets involved in the happenings at the Medical college campus. Says Inderjit: "Do you know that I was a crazy fan of Simran while doing my Engineering in Nagerkovil? At that time her Vaali had just released, and later she went on to do a lot of films with Tamil superstars. I can't believe it she is my heroine today". Simran was amazed by the changes in Kochi city, where the shooting of Heart Beats is taking part. The actress has made it clear that she is open to the idea of doing more films in Malayalam.
