Kali Mirch Murg Ki Masala

Ingredients:


Chicken(cut into pieces 1 whole
Vegetable oil 1 1/2 cup
Medium onions chopped 2
Black cardamom 7
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Lemon 2
Black pepper powder 2 tbsp
Green pepper corn mustard 2 tbsp
Salt 1 1/2 tsp
Garlic cloves, peeled and crushed 6



Directions:



  • Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
  • When hot add onions and cardamom pods and cumin seeds and cook stirring frequently untill the onions begin to brown.
  • Add the chicken pieces and cook stirring frequently for 10 minutes.
  • Mix the lemon juice, black pepper, mustard, salt and add 1 cup water.
  • Pour the mixture over the chicken and onions. Let the mixture cook, cover and let it cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and continue cooking for 30 to 40 minutes stirring occasionally, untill the meat is tender.
  • Add a little more liquid if necessary to prevent it from getting burnt.
  • Serve with pulao.
