Amritsari Fish

Ingredients:

Fish (cut into medium sized chunks) 1 kg
Oil for frying

To Marinade:

Lemon juice 75ml
Grated ginger 1 tsp
Black pepper 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp

Batter:

Besan 100 gms
Ginger paste 1 tsp
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Ajwain 2 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Red chillies (snipped) 4 nos
Baking powder 1 tsp
Iced water 100 ml
Salt to taste




Directions:

  • Combine all the marinade ingredients. Pour over the fish and set aside for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the fish from the marinade and pat dry.
  • Combine all ingredients for the batter. Coat the fish in the batter and set aside for 15 minutes.
  • Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Serve hot.
